MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
“After working at some of DC’s most popular and dynamic kitchens, Chef Haidar Karoum ventures out with his first solo project. Tucked into the trendy Navy Yard district, Chloe’s menu is eclectic and deeply personalized, seemingly built out to Haider’s unique resume. The shareable plates menu gathers ingredients from across the globe, presenting them in original—and consistently delicious—ways.
Kick things off with chilled cobia crudo, pooled in a savory fish sauce, with puffed black rice, crispy shallots and creamy avocado; or delicately fried cauliflower treated to a thick drizzle of tahini, shredded mint and toasted buttery pine nuts. Follow this up with roasted Icelandic cod, cleverly crusted with papadum and set afloat in a vibrant yellow curry.”
